Parenting Conference: Fostering Resilience - Supporting Learners, Strengthening Communities
Hear keynote speaker, Dr. Kathryn Hecht, and gain new skills in The Power of Brave Parenting. Dr. Kathryn Hecht is a Minnesota-based child and adolescent clinical psychologist, author and nationally recognized speaker specializing in pediatric anxiety and OCD. An outspoken advocate for children’s mental health, she is known for translating evidence-based treatment into clear, actionable strategies families can use — and for helping parents shift from prioritizing comfort to building confident, resilient and capable kids.
Following the keynote, attend two breakout workshops, choosing from over twenty offerings. Workshops will be presented by area experts, including District 196 teachers and staff, on relevant topics including discipline, health, communication and academics.
This event is free, but registration is recommended, and required for those needing childcare or an interpreter (ASL, Somali and Spanish available). Childcare is available for children ages two years and older for $10 per family. Registration for childcare closes October 30.
