Your Teen, Today's World: Understanding Teen Substance Use and Family Connection
Parenting teens in today’s world can feel complicated, especially when concerns about substance use arise. This evening features a screening of Together: Family Recovery, followed by a practical, hope-filled conversation to help parents better understand the challenges teens face and respond in ways that preserve connection and build family strength.

- Doors open at 5:15 p.m.
- Screening runs from 5:30-6:50 p.m.
- Short Presentation and Conversation from 6:50-7:15 p.m., covering:
- What’s behind the “why” of substance use.
- What are the early signs of substance misuse?
- What substances are teens using today?
- How can parents respond in ways that strengthen—not damage—the relationship.
- Where can families turn for help when they’re concerned?

Thrive Family Recovery Resources - Pam Lanhart
Instructor
Pam Lanhart is a local author, filmmaker, speaker and national subject matter expert on substance use and the family. Pam is the founder and executive director of Thrive Family Recovery Resources, a local non-profit that supports families impacted by a loved one's substance use. Pam's work comes out of her own experiences with a young adolescent son that started struggling with substances beginning in middle school. Additionally, Pam serves on local and national advisory councils guiding legislation that supports prevention, education and recovery for the entire family system.
