Vivace (grades 2-3) Explore your voice, develop your ear, building music literacy and prepare yourself for the rigors of successful choral membership. Art Outside the BoxPersonal DevelopmentEnjoy an exciting and unique opportunity to explore the work of artists who don’t necessarily “play by the rules." In fact, many of the artworks featured in this class were exhibited outside the traditional gallery space or were constructed with surprising mediums. Discuss how temporary pieces of art can have lasting impacts on the world long after they have been disassembled. Each week will focus on a different creative element and by comparing and contrasting two artists and their interpretations of that element. Share your perspective and interpretation of the artwork, while discussing some unusual artistic practices. Plus, there are no wrong answers! Partner class with District 191. Lee! Tour the Minneapolis Institute of Art with Adrienne on Saturday, November 14, from 11:00 a.m. - noon, as she highlights work by artists discussed in her fall classes, Art Outside the Box and A Survey of Women Artists, Part 1. She will point out examples of different art movement, styles and subjects covered in her classes, like the Baroque period, the tradition of portraiture and impressionism. This unique experience encourages you to apply what you learn in class to a museum setting, enhancing your understanding by seeing the artwork in person. This tour will also prepare students for Adrienne's Spring 2027 classes. Cost includes the guided tour.
