These tools are often called “assistive technology.” They can support things like daily tasks, memory, safety, communication, and so much more, helping us do more for ourselves in an adapted and accessible way, reducing stress for us and our caregivers. In this session, you’ll get an introduction to examples of these tools and learn how they can help in real life. You’ll explore hands-on examples, learn what might be available through your waiver, and hear ideas that could work for your situation. We’ll also walk through how to talk with your case manager about getting these supports included in your plan if they can help you. The session is discussion-based, so bring your questions, challenges, and ideas - we’ll learn from each other and explore solutions together.

Get creative with spooky season art in this Spider Web Abstract Painting class! Participants will use tape to design a spider web on canvas, then paint around it using their choice of colors and patterns to create a bold abstract background. Once the paint is dry, the tape will be removed to reveal the web design, and participants will create and add a spider to complete their artwork.

Get creative with clay! We will use air dry clay to make spooky ghost slab pottery. You will shape your own ghost out of clay and add fun details to make it unique. Since air dry clay takes more than 24 hours to dry, you will also get a ready to paint piece during class. Come ready to sculpt, paint, and have some spooky fun!

Enjoy a stroll and roll on the paved Black Dog Trail. We will travel about 1 1/4 miles to the dock at Black Dog Lake, where we will stop to look for birds and wildlife. Please wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather. We will meet on the grass near the parking lot.
